Job Description

You are part of the Company’s second line of defense to support the business in ensuring compliance with applicable local laws, regulations and internal policies, and in mitigating all forms of risks.

Functionally, you will directly report to the Group Chief Compliance and Risk Officer (CCRO) who is based in Singapore.

Primarily you will be responsible for managing the Compliance monitoring programme the process and controls assurance from a risk angle along with the CCRO at the group level. In addition, you will support our HK business on day-to-day compliance matters.

Responsibilities

  • You will work at the Group level in implementing StashAway’s Compliance Monitoring Program. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the Group companies comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • You will be responsible for developing monitoring protocols, conducting assessments, identifying potential compliance issues, tracking and implementing corrective actions.
  • This role will involve tracking and collaborating with various departments and teams within the company to ensure all actions are remedied and closed in a timely manner.
  • You will undertake ad hoc compliance projects and support Group-wide responsibilities as and when required.
  • You will also be involved in designing and implementing the process and controls testing for key business processes in the business from a risk management perspective.
  • You will support the preparation of reports for the Group ARMC from monitoring and assurance perspective.
  • In addition, you will manage the day to day compliance function for the Fund Management Company in Hong Kong, including overseeing the Type 1, Type 4 and Type 9 regulated activities.
  • You will be responsible to implement the Group's compliance strategy, frameworks, policies, and procedures in Hong Kong while ensuring alignment and relevance with support from the Group.
  • Responsible for managing the compliance risks in HK and provide advisory, review, and support on all regulatory, policy, and financial crime matters in Hong Kong.
  • Lead and support business on all regulatory matters and requirements for new product launches, marketing and distribution and new initiatives taken in Hong Kong.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, Commerce, accounting, Economics or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., Certified Compliance Professional) would be advantageous.
  • Proven experience (6-8 years) in compliance, operational risk management, internal audit, regulatory consulting, fintech compliance or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks, laws, and industry standards applicable to the organization.
  • Familiarity with compliance monitoring techniques, risk assessment methodologies, and corrective action implementation.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, and multicultural awareness with the ability to articulate complex compliance concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively in English and Cantonese (oral and writing).
