We have an opportunity available for a Law Enforcement Liaison Specialist to join our team in Kuala Lumpur, embedded with one of our clients, a large, international e-commerce company. Working on-site with our client, the role will work with regional leaders and local stakeholders in responding to, investigating, managing, and resolving incidents and escalations around product authenticity, fraudulent activities, and health and safety issues across the Southeast Asia region.
This role is being recruited as an initial 12-month contract, with good potential for further extension.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Online to Offline (O2O) enforcement collaboration with law enforcement and IP Rights Holders (brands).
- Coordinate and interface with regional law enforcement to take action against errant sellers.
- Effectively recognise platform risk by performing relevant research and data analysis using both internal and external tools and resources.
- Employ investigative techniques and methods to gather evidence to build cases against infringers and devise and execute effective action plans.
- Manage projects designed to improve operational and process efficiency relating to risk areas, including fraud prevention and scam public awareness, working extensively with internal and external teams.
- Review, scrutinise, and respond to emergency requests received from law enforcement agencies for information within established procedures.
- Record and clearly articulate operational decisions ensuring compliance in line with policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a field related to security, risk management, or international relations.
- 10+ years of law enforcement, customs amp; excise, brand protection, or relevant corporate security experience with good exposure to working in a complex corporate environment with local and international stakeholders.
- Good network of contacts with law enforcement, regulatory agencies, and investigation service providers in Southeast Asia is a plus.
- Familiarity with law enforcement processes and procedures including the conducting of raids and seizures.
- Experienced in managing investigations in Southeast Asia, particularly in the online space.
- Solid understanding of chain of custody procedures, and evidence-handling best practices.
- Experience working with international stakeholders within the ASEAN region.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and technical abilities including the ability to work with and draw conclusions from large data sets to identify potential threat actors.
- Excellent English-language verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across geographies. Other Asian languages would be a plus.
