About the team
GBG’s greenID is a world-leading software-as-a-service product providing identification services to financial institutions, telecommunications providers and other businesses where customer identification is essential. This excellent opportunity will have you working on the greenID on-line identity product which is used by many of Australia and New Zealand’s most progressive businesses.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced and capable Principal Software Engineer to join our team. This position is a permanent full-time role based in Kuala Lumpur and offers a rare opportunity to work in a fast growing, best of breed company that retains the atmosphere and culture of a start-up. What you will do
As part of an Agile development team:
- You will be a very senior technical member of an agile squad, delivering high performing, scalable, enterprise-grade online applications and services.
- You will be involved in architectural / design decisions and will communicate effectively technical and design choices / decisions to the team.
- Responsible for delivery of software components.
- Continually develop skills, competencies, and knowledge to support your personal development.
- Contribute to and follow best practice guidelines as defined by GBG’s Centres of Excellence.
- Design, engineer, test, document and integrate components in line with the agreed ‘Definition of Done’.
- Elicit, understand and challenge stakeholder requirements.
- Evaluation and recommendation of technical approaches.
- Mentor / train / coach other team members proactively and as needed.
- Proactively identify trends to address problems before they become incidents.
- Proactively share knowledge with colleagues.
- Shape documentation.
- Support continuous integration practices including test driven development.
Requirements
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Core Java programming language and Web front end development (e.g. Vue.js, Spring Boot).
- Database Technologies Experience (PostgreSQL or equivalent).
- Scripting (e.g. Groovy Scripts, Bash scripts, Cron jobs).
- Cloud developer certification (e.g. AWS Certified Developer, Google cloud developer etc).
- Experience with Agile Methodologies and DevOps culture an added advantage.
- Hands on experience with API Frameworks.
- Experience in guiding technology team.
- Experience in Architecture design and Microservices.
- Presentation Skills.
- Fluent English Language Speaker.
- JIRA (or equivalent Agile lifecycle tool).
