Job Description
Japanese Linguistic Specialist is a language specialist that will assist in translating project related documents, communication, and actual in-game texts by localizing products and/or workflows specific to our customers in Japan. You will act as a bridge that connects Streamline Media Group with the Japan market. Using your professional English and Japanese languages abilities, you will be responsible for providing support to make Streamline’s products (services and games) appealing to the Japanese market. You may also be required to interpret meetings with Japanese clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Conduct translation, proofreading, editing of in-game contents from English to Japanese
• Implement the translated text into game amp; perform LQA including bug reports, language errors report and making improvement suggestions
• Marketing contents translation and localization (e.g. commercial videos, social media contents, etc.)
• Other document translation that related with internal projects
• Interpreting (EN lt;gt;JA) weekly online meetings with Japanese clients
Requirements
• Native Japanese or equivalent level of Japanese language ability. JLPT N1 is required.
• Business or above level in English (TOEIC 800+ preferred).
• 3+ years of working experience as English lt;gt; Japanese translator and/ or proofreader in any industry.
Additional Skills (preferred)
• Work experience in game development or operation, especially LQA
• 2 + years work experience as ENlt;gt;JA translator/interpreter in video game or entertainment
• In-depth knowledge in LQA related software and tools
• UI/UX localization knowledges
• Work experience with CAT tools (Trados, Memo Q, Memsource, etc.)
• Work experience in Japan or Japanese companies
• Fluency in other languages in writing and reading is advantage
