Your Responsibilities: (What is this role all about? What does the applicant have to do?)

To begin with, you will be accountable on the development, establishment and optimization of Mechanical & Electrical Standards, Guidelines and Technical Specifications of Telecommunications and IT related network/service facilities and infrastructures in Digi.

In this capacity, you’ll ensure the successful implementation of all network facilities projects to meet the current Operational year as well as design efficiency to strive for Digi’s growth projection, cost savings, system reliability and robustness that will eventually support the revenue of other company/divisional and/or departmental KPIs and objectives.

You will participate in the development of subsequent year/s Business and Annual Operating Plan (immediate year plan + next 2 years projection) to support the Network, Service expansion as well as the operational targets which include new technologies/techniques consideration and their best practices.

You will act as the author, take ownership and will be accountable to develop and establish (and periodic improvement or refreshment) on the Standards, Guidelines and Technical Specifications of Telecommunications and IT facilities inclusive the SOPP Formalization ;

Primary & secondary power system (inclusive incoming AC, DC source, battery back-up, genset, regulator, inverter, distribution/breakers, etc);

Environmental/room temperature, humidity conditioning and fire-fighting system (inclusive air conditioning system, chiller system, heat dissipation/management, heat and smoke sensor);

Equipment space & ancillaries fitting (inclusive the building, shelter, cable tray/ladder/inlet, raised floor, etc).

You will be Technology Single Point of Contact (SPOC) on the M&E facility operation, plan, design and delivery pertaining to:

The M&E capacity sizing, assignment and utilization tracking of the facilities of broad range of network (4G/Future) and elements not limited to BTS, BSC, Trunk/Collection hubs, VSAT/Remote, MSC/ISC, IN, Data/Server/Storage Center and Operation Center;

The current and future requirements (New & Expansion/Upgrade) thus make-up the next financial year Budget operations & planning (inc. the re-forecast exercise);

Operation team point of escalation upon Preventive Maintenance recommendations for future upgrade or expansion;

Timely readiness of Project implementation within the target budget or desired saving.

We will depend on you as the focal coordination within Technology division and liaison with affiliated departments and sections on matters pertaining:

Digi’s facilities assessment of Infrastructure Sharing Technical Proposal from Celcos and Upgrade Work Order;

Involves cross functional & advice to Network Engineering, Operations, Field Force, Managed Services Provider and others (Technology, Strategy and Development).

OPEX reduction through reduced power consumption strategy/plan or less operational maintenance set-up (proactive maintenance);

Participate (or Joint effort) with Procurement and Technology counterpart on RFP/Q process to strive for cost effective or reduction Contract or Frame Agreement.

Finally, we would like you to participate or represent Digi in the Industry’ in line with Telenor technical standards collaboration:

Strive for the effective infrastructure sharing design thus Digi’s Capex and Opex reduction in coping up with the growth and expansion at least possible cost;

Regulatory or municipal council compliance on Site/Facility Design (Local Housing Guidelines, Stealth/Aesthetic design, etc) to secure faster approval process and avoid/minimize public protest of the existing/new BTS facilities or resolution of issues;

Provide responses to queries from authorities and third parties regarding engineering and design issues

Actively support or team up with Telenor affiliates team on optimum infrastructure design as to reduce expansion and operation cost to the advantage of Digi (Financially Constraint market, etc);

Design a network facility with world class reliability and redundancy as well as one that is capable of delivering efficiency numbers above Telenor Benchmarks

Your Merits: (these are must haves in terms of qualifications & experience & specific technical /professionals skills that you want from the applicant)

Minimum degree in Engineering (Telecommunications, E&E)

2 to 3 years of related working experience

Excellent computer skills especially in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), Basic competency in AutoCAD

Excellent command of languages (Bahasa Malaysia and English) with ability in business writing skills.
