As our Supply Chain and Quality Lead based in Penang, Malaysia or in Chicago (preferable, but open to remote), you will own key aspects of Neopenda’s supply chain and quality management system. You will lead supply chain operations including manufacturing, all supplier commercial relationships, quality, and logistics-- playing a pivotal role in scaling our medical devices in emerging economies. We are excited to be completing our first mass production run at our overseas contract manufacturer, and you’ll be working on optimizing our manufacturing processes and setting us up for scale. You will collaborate closely with the executive team to develop and execute implementation strategy, and will develop internal infrastructure systems for Neopenda as we build for growth and sustainability. This position reports to Neopenda’s CEO. Tasks and responsibilities include:
- Management of various external suppliers (e.g. contract manufacturer, logistics provider, direct procurement sub-suppliers)
- Optimize all external supplier relationships from fabrication, assembly, and product handling to for transition from NPI phase to high volume mass production
- Manage manufacturing and distribution contract negotiations
- Manage and enhance Neopenda’s ISO13485-certified Quality Management System
- Prepare and manage product inventory, external manufacturing operations, and supply chain budgets
- Work cross-functionally with design and external suppliers to develop lean manufacturing processes for future family of products and new products.
- Additional responsibilities may evolve based on your interests and Neopenda’s business needs
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years supply chain management experience
- ISO13485 experience (preferred), or quality experience in comparable industry leading quality system management (i.e. aerospace, automotive; required)
- Fluency in risk management (PFMEAs, conducting CAPA investigations)
- Experience working with overseas electronics (PCBA) and plastics (injection molding) suppliers
- Expertise in project management or PMP certification
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to rapidly adapt and overcome challenges as they arise with limited direction
- Excitement for building impactful technology for low resource customer base
