Headquartered in Penang, Malaysia and with regional offices across Africa, Asia and the Pacific, WorldFish leads the cross-disciplinary CGIAR Research Program (CRP) on Fish Agri-Food Systems (FISH) during 2017-2021. The objective of the FISH program is to enhance sustainable aquaculture and small-scale fisheries in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, with the aim of increasing the contribution of fish and other aquatic products to the SDGs and CGIAR impacts and outcomes.
ABOUT THE POSITION
WorldFish seeks to partner with an experienced and well-networked consultant and/or organisation with an overall purpose of increasing the outreach and impact of capacity development products developed and/or under development in the CGIAR Research Program (CRP) on Fish Agri-Food Systems (FISH).
The consultancy or organizational partnership will assist FISH in drawing together and disseminating in suitable formats/channels the diversity of practical training products (manuals, guidelines, videos, posters/factsheets, assessment tools, research methodologies etc) developed through the program, to increase their application and impact. The emphasis will be on key practical and vocational level user groups, including farmers, fishers, extension services and other operators seeking practical field level outcomes at scale. The consultant will guide and support a strategy for the FISH program to accelerate outreach and impact through identifying partners and knowledge networks, collating relevant materials and enabling a capacity development strategy. A key part of the work will be to identify key partners who can create impact using key knowledge products developed during the 5 years of the FISH program in Africa, Asia and the Pacific.
The consultant and/or partner will also assist in reviewing and completing the drafting of some key products, notably a set of Better management practice guidelines developed by the FISH sustainable aquaculture research team.
