As our Regional Procurement Business Development Specialist, you will lead the procurement development in the Energy Industries Division in Asia. Reporting to the Asia Pacific Operations Manager you will ensure that we are developing competitive solutions based on optimized procurement strategy and sourcing for our projects, develop suppliers and partnerships, negotiate agreements, follow up on quality and develop innovative and efficient processes for efficiently managing procurement and suppliers relationships at Kuala Lumpur; Malaysia location.

Your responsibilities

Having overall Asia Pacific accountability to develop competitive solutions for procurement and suppliers in project tenders, with special focus on future project opportunities.

Standardizing procurement processes and tools; ensuring compliance and continually improve effectiveness of procurement process.

Collaborating closely with all functions to ensure a common approach towards our customers and leading the procurement activities and teams with clear guidelines and milestones, while motivating and providing feedback.

Identifying, analyzing, and addressing procurement risks across all projects in the region, ensuring proper and necessary mitigating actions are put in place.

Identifying and developing suppliers across Asia, establish partnerships and frame agreements.

Building strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and stakeholders.

Guides, motivates, and develops direct and indirect subordinates within Procurement excellence guidelines (knowledge management, functional training, etc.).

Your background

University degree in an engineering discipline or finance/business administration, strong understanding of technical aspects.

Minimum 10 years of professional experience in procurement for system delivery projects with multi scope, good knowledge of Asian supplier market, experience with Chinese suppliers.

Experience from EPC projects, covering automation, electrical, structural, mechanical and construction scope.

Experience from software development procurement.

Strong negotiation skills, extensive contractual/legal knowledge.

Good cultural understanding with excellent communication skills, structured, results oriented, self-driven, proactive, takes ownership.

Fluency in mandarin language will be an advantage.
