ABOUT THE POSITION
Partnership for Aquaculture Development in Timor-Leste Phase 2 (PADTL2), funded by New Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) New Zealand, builds on the sound foundations laid by the first five-year phase (20142019) for the scaling of genetically improved farmed tilapia (GIFT) farming in Timor-Leste. The PADTL2 project targets to increase availability of farmed fish using sustainable aquaculture practices and enhance accessibility of consumers to fish, which will lead to improvement of food security and nutrition with the incorporation of more fish into the Timorese menus. The USAID has funded Accelerating Aquaculture Development in Timor-Leste to complement and to accelerate achievement of the goal of the on-going PADTL2 to advance nutrition-sensitive aquaculture in environmentally benign and sustainable ways in Timor-Leste.
Under the overall guidance of the Project Leader/Manager, the consultant will assist in designing data collection tools, database management and analyses; provide training and support to the research team in Timor-Leste in data collection and management (e.g., baseline survey and pond book in ODK-based platform); conduct data analysis and visualization; to assist in drafting reports where necessary.
