Job Description

Design culture and thinking are embedded across every function of our business. Our designers care deeply not just about the users of our core ride products, but also how our vehicles effects the broader community. Designers have the opportunity to dive into data and business metrics to help support, iterate, and ship the work they produce. We’re looking for designers who are empathetic, strong communicators, and work well in a collaborative environment. You should feel eager to take on work that can vary across a variety of spectrums such as app design, web, print, digital marketing, and more. If you’re excited by the challenge of being an early team member who will be helping shape an early stage startups design culture while also being responsible for designing for scale across millions of users then we want to hear from you.
What you do:
- Design product experiences for our iOS and Android mobile apps (used by millions of users) and internal web app used by our operations team
- Be able to build and think in terms of design systems; lead the creation of our style guide and design systems
- Run your own design sprints and design thinking workshops/research initiatives
- Be able to maintain a balance between project ownership and collaboration with other members of the design team and organization
- Think through how to solve complex user problems while factoring in technical constraints across hardware and software
- Create interactions that inform and delight our users on the experience of escooter riding
- Is an effective communicator and can work well with our product, engineer, policy, operations, recruiting, customer service, and legal departments
- Maintain a consistent visual style, voice, and message across mediums
- Be a vocal and positive contributor to the Beam team
- Mentor junior and entry level product designers as our organization grows
Requirements
- Experience as product designer with a mix of in-house and agency experience
- Experience across every spectrum of the design process from user research, to ux/ui design, visual design, prototyping, and iterations post-product releases
- Experience designing and owning a large product scope with a high degree of complexity
- Enthusiasm and excitement for your craft
