Job Description

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Potential for hybrid working

Job type: Permanent, full time, Monday - Friday

Salary: Dependent on qualifications, skills and experience

Hours of work: Hours needed to do the job. The basic core hours are 37.5 per week. You must be prepared to work across global time zones, travel regularly and stay in other countries for periods of time, sometimes based at client sites.

Key tasks and responsibilities

You will:

  • Conduct system demos, show walk throughs and answer questions
  • Communicate, mainly verbally, and understand the customer’s business, their systems and requirements for the project
  • Lead, understand and communicate the big picture and assure the overall goal is maintained
  • Elicit, question, clarify and capture business requirements using various methods, including document analysis, requirements workshops, site visits, user cases, scenarios and task and workflow analysis
  • Use the gathered business requirements to create mockups and user journeys
  • Utilise business modelling techniques to graphically represent and depict various activities, processes and data, including process flow modelling, data flow modelling and stakeholder analysis
  • Improve and re-engineer business processes for optimum efficiency and effectiveness
  • Report on common sources of technical issues and make recommendations for improvement
  • Design the technical solution, considering the opportunities and risks and identifying the processes and technology/functionality required to pursue recommendations
  • Document and present recommendations for stakeholders, including costs and risk/benefit analyses, impact analysis of system changes and delivery of clear business solutions and benefits
  • Present and articulate the value of the HypaShip system to stakeholders, enabling their decisions
  • Provide an interface between the customer and HypaShip’s IT, to translate and articulate business problems into formal business and functional requirements
  • Produce detailed functional specifications for the software development and testing teams
  • Deliver, at pace, using various methodologies and principles
  • Provide support to the project, development and testing teams
  • Lead in providing solutions to business problems, through influence, facilitation, persuasion, perseverance and communication
  • Identify and address issues which could impact project success, escalating them and risks
  • Address delicate situations and handle conflict in ways that maximise opportunity, minimise exposure to risk and maintain an effective working relationship
Must have
  • 3+ years experience working as a Business Analyst for a software provider (SAAS) on large, complex software projects
  • Degree or equivalent level of experience
  • Proficiency in the English language when speaking, presenting and writing
  • Evidence of continuous training and professional development
  • Prince 2 (Project Management) or Business Analysis (BA) qualification or equivalent
  • Experience of conducting demos
  • Experience using business modelling techniques to graphically represent and depict various activities, processes and data
  • Experience creating mock ups and user journeys from business requirements
  • Ability to design technical solutions whilst considering the processes, technology and functionality required to pursue recommendations and the opportunities and risks
  • Experience of producing detailed user design specifications for development and testing teams to us to devise functional specifications
  • Experience of working through the business analysis full lifecycle
  • Used work management tools and knowledge repositories like JIRA and Confluence or equivalent
  • Played an active role in a project from sale to completion
  • Top class successful stakeholder engagement and project delivery skills including handling delicate situations and conflict manageme
