Job Description

We’re looking for a UX writer who can shape our product experience through words. As a member of the product team, you’ll work with product designers and product managers, developers, and marketing managers. Your primary responsibility will be UX writing for our mobile and desktop applications. That means everything related to the product, from microcopy, email copy and subject lines, and push notifications.

Your responsibility is far more than ensuring consistent casing. From full stop usage to tone of voice across the app; you’ll also deliver delightful, understandable experiences that help our investors feel informed and at ease, no matter the market conditions.

To be successful in the role, you’ll rely on customer insights to write, audit, and improve copy; you’ll also consider business objectives and branding. You’ll also be the stitching between teams when it comes to managing processes ranging from updating local languages across our applications and localising experiences.

In addition to being part of the product team, you’ll also get to know the marketing team well: You’ll meet regularly with other writers in the company for writing critiques, and make sure every single word and communication on the product is on brand.

This isn’t a marketing copywriting role, so if you only have experience in social media, long-form content, and ads, this probably isn’t the role for you.

Requirements

  • You have 5 years of copywriting experience, preferably in consumer tech, with at least 2 years of UX writing experience. Experience writing for the financial domain is a big plus.
  • You consider legalese and technical jargon their own languages in and of themselves that you can masterfully translate into conversational English.
  • You have strong UX design principles, and know how to work with designers and developers to ensure the words match the intention of the experience at every point in time.
  • You can’t see an ad without automatically copy editing it in your head, or use an app without wishing they had a better UX writer.
  • You take and give feedback well, and you’re always keen to learn and improve. UX writing is at the forefront, so managing feedback is a critical part to continually evolving.
  • You have experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • You diligently maintain useful documentation, and understand the importance of keeping the product microcopy guide up to date. This is critical in a hybrid and remote working environment that we operate in.
  • You can write without a brief, can figure out context and know what questions to ask.
  • Native English is a requisite. Fluency in Cantonese, Arabic, or Thai is a plus.
